It’s God Who Shuts the Door

Genesis 7:16

“Those that entered, male and female of all flesh, entered as God had commanded him; and the Lord closed the door behind him.” In another translation it reads, “The Lord sealed them inside.”

Everyone knows the story of Noah’s ark but are you aware it wasn’t Noah who closed the door? To keep Noah, his family, livestock, crawling things, and birds protected—God made every effort to ensure they were protected and life, as He created, continue to thrive. With His right hand, God shut the door.

It’s in God’s authority and will, life exists and continues despite the turmoil and chaos in the world today. If it wasn’t for the sacrifice of God’s only son, Jesus, I’m certain God would’ve destroyed humanity again, and start over.

It’s through His mercy, patience, and hope, your eyes see the truth—life is a spiritual warfare. Throughout centuries, humanity has battled for power, greed, destroying others due to different cultural beliefs.

However, it’s in the power of God to shut the door, which He can do at any time. In the book of Revelations, it’s prophesized that Jesus will return. Until He does, evil exists everywhere. It’s through God, and His Son, Jesus, that God can shut you in and shout out the devil that seeks to devour you.

As God ensured His creations were protected before the floods, He will protect His children who call upon Him through His Son, Jesus.

Jesus stands in the gap between you and the Heavenly Father. It’s through Him you’re cleansed in His blood, sins forgiven, and prayers petitioned to the Father.

Jesus is the truth, the light and the way. He is the living water and lamp that has conquered the world. There is no one like Him for He came from Heaven and was with the Father in the beginning.

Jesus is glorified through and in the Father. You are glorified, through Jesus and in the Holy Spirit. The gift given when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. However, do you completely understand the power of the Living God? How He moves in you like the wind and flows like living water?

John 3:8

The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it is coming from and where it is going; so is everyone who has been born of the Spirit.

God remains constant and consistent in His promises. He never changes His mind or wonders what to do next as He knows exactly how each life will unfold. It’s in His hands the world will be shut out, and when He sends His Son, Jesus, back to earth. However, this time, Jesus will arrive like a roaring lion, on a war path to destroy all those who follow evil.

Revelation 19:11-16

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh, he has this name written:

KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.”

8 Signs Showing Signs of Jesus’ Return

  • Increase in Deception and False Prophets. ...

  • Global Preaching of the Gospel. ...

  • Wars and Natural Disasters. ...

  • Love Will Grow Cold. ...

  • The Abomination of Desolation. ...

  • Celestial Signs and Planet X Theory. ...

  • Great Tribulation and Revelation Events…

  • Israel's Regathering.

We haven’t witnessed all of these signs yet, but its brewing. Like a woman giving birth, each contraction creates a new level of connecting dots to this prophecy.

However, it’s God’s choice. He will close the door when the time is ripe. The longer we wait the better, as it gives unbelievers time to understand that life is making choices between good and evil. It isn’t a movie fantasizing a remarkable outcome, these predicted signs are real. People will suffer. Loss of hope will be prevalent. And the worst sign is love growing cold.

Love is the fabric that instills kindness, gratitude and hope. It’s the living breath of God. A precious gift we share with others. Without love, hate rules. And that is the enemy. A supernatural entity consumed with hate, broken from the bonds of love by His creator. However, this brokenness isn’t for him to learn a lesson, it’s a complete separation from a loving source, leaving a ravaged desire for ultimate destruction.

However, there is hope. Jesus is creating His flock in preparation of His return. We’re in a period of renewal, where people are suddenly having the desire to return to church. It’s sooo encouraging! I’ve even witnessed it in my own family. The inkling and desire to learn more.

How about you?

I pray you’ve experienced the same or are asking questions that lead you or others to learn the truth...

John 8:32

“And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

The truth, that Jesus is the Son of God. He was with the Father in the beginning and was sent here by the Father so you have a choice to follow Him. To ask Him to be your Lord and Savior, forgiveness of your sins, and wash you clean in His blood. It’s a renewal in spirit. Unseen but felt in your heart.

Many have been saved in His name. Take the story of famous author C.S. Lewis.

He was raised Christian, but after the devastation of his mother’s death, he turned his back on Christianity, moved towards atheism, and rejected religious beliefs. It wasn’t until years later that he reconsidered God’s existence.

He felt a stirring in his heart that brought a sense of joy and longing he believed was connected to God. Over time, he learned to accept God as a Christian God, but didn’t believe in Jesus, the Son of God. In fact, he described himself as the ‘most dejected and reluctant convert in England.’ However, when God has a purpose for your life, He will seek you and never forsake you. For Lewis, this occurred while on a motorcycle ride with his brother in Whipsnade Zoo. God opened his eyes to the truth where he experienced a sudden awakening of light and darkness, resulting in a shift where he accepted Jesus as the Son of God.

God didn’t leave him alone in his conversion, he had help from his friend J.R.R. Tolkien and found inspiration in the works of George MacDonald and G.K. Chesterton.

His conversion led to an earnest desire to learn Christian theology. In his determination he became a defender of the faith.

C.S. Lewis is well known for the Narnia chronicles, but in his lifetime, he wrote over 30 books. He was known for embracing his faith in every aspect of his work. Most notable was acclaim for his wartime radio broadcasts on Christianity, giving hope to many who were desperate for encouraging words. Today, his books continue to inspire Christians globally.

Proverbs 5:21

For the ways of everyone are before the eyes of the Lord, And He observes all his paths.

God meets you in your current state. In your loneliness, joy, mercy, and brokenness. He loves you without being loved in return.

When you’re ready to believe, the fire of God will move you, sustain and comfort you. He endlessly waits for you to call His name so He can hold you.

Isaiah 41:13

‘For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand, who says to you, ‘do not fear, I will help you.’

As a follower of Jesus, I’ve been accused of being brainwashed. However, I can no longer deny the presence of God in my life. How He speaks to me, giving me gentle advice and showing me the truth of my path. What I need to surrender to get there. This relationship is real, and it’s grown closer through prayer and spending time with the Holy Trinity in Prayer Journals I’ve been inspired to create.

The Prayer Journal includes a segment on ‘What is Prayer?’ to help you understand the most important element in your relationship. As for any relationship to grow, you need to communicate. With God in your life, you can communicate everything—your feelings of anger, frustration, stress, health concerns, ask Him questions, and He will answer. Most important, is trusting Him in all areas of your life, even when life is difficult.

Take Johann Sebastian Bach. He had twenty children between two marriages. His first wife, second cousin, Maria Barbara, died suddenly without explanation while Bach was travelling with his employer, Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Köthen. From this marriage, he lost his little daughter and three sons. He later married Anna-Magdalene and lost four daughters and three sons—11 beloved children. Then, after a catastrophic eye surgery, Bach became permanently blind.

One person can only handle so much loss. Yet Bach continued writing beautiful songs and performing.

How did he do it?

At the beginning of each score he wrote, ‘Lord, help me.’ At the end he wrote, ‘Glory to God Only.’ A profound testimony of faith in the midst of overwhelming tragedy. Yet, his faith didn’t falter. He continued to praise God and God continued to hold him.

God shut Bach in with His loving arms.

Deuteronomy 33:27

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.

It’s through faith and leaning on the strength of God that you persevere, as nothing is impossible for God.

How do you trust in God?

When you’re in the midst of turmoil, leaning on God to answer your prayers, isn’t easy. We’re human and live in a society where you want answers yesterday, not today. I understand what it’s like to wait. To plead with tears and feel broken. However, God has a plan for you.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

His plans may not be readily apparent; however, God has a plan for each of His children. It’s taken me almost a year to understand His plan for me. Now that I know with certainty, it’s an epiphany that excites me, as I know how God will use me. It’s to bring others close to Him through this blog and the creation of Prayer Journals.

To date, I’ve created three printable Prayer Journals, one revised, available in my ETSY store.

These journals have been essential in my growth, and I know in my heart, will help you.

Each page invites you to share your thoughts, reflect on scripture, and grow your relationship with the Holy Trinity, God the Father, Jesus, the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit.

They’re designed for you and Jesus to be alone. It’s personal, filled with sentiments, and the trials and tribulations of life. The more you invest, the more meaningful the words on these pages will impact your life—a beautiful memoir of your intimate relationship with a Lord who is with you always.

I pray this journal will be a source of joy, renewal, and spiritual growth as you embrace your journey in faith, one day at a time through connection and prayer with the Lord.

As when you sit in silence with God, He will shut you in.

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I AM GOD.

He loves spending quiet time with you, as it’s personal, raw, and emotional. It’s where He gets the opportunity to tell you, ‘I love you.’

Hi, I’m Cathy.

A blogger, photographer, author, passionately driven to pointing people away from new age indoctrination to find redemption in Jesus Christ.

I’m a mixed blend, excited to share all I offer...

Blog-Twisted Roots

Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?

As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination. It also highlights other areas to inspire and encourage Christians in their walk of faith.

Fine Art Photography

I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal. When the opportunity presented itself, I knew it was time to fulfill my dream.

I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or fine art available for wall décor.
