The Open Door to Attacks
The devil doesn’t enter your life with turbulence. He enters through subtle persuasion that leads to conformity. All he needs is access to your vulnerabilities, convince your actions are mild, and don’t have consequences.
Thought patterns like:
I deserve this break.
What’s a little scrolling?
There’s no harm playing this game.
I’m not hurting anybody.
It’s not that bad.
I can pray later.
I’ll get serious tomorrow.
However, falling into these thought patterns has consequences.
I fell into a few over Christmas holidays...
I deserve this break.
I can pray later.
I’ll get serious on Monday.
I just need this time to relax.
This game makes me think.
It took seconds to open the door to subtle attacks. Suddenly, I was justifying my actions in playing word games, that it’s okay to put God on hold while I take a break.
I paid the consequences.
It left me feeling numb, stuck in a place of mindlessness with no hope or motivation, and God felt a thousand miles away.
More than once, I deleted the game app, only to reinstall, as the urge to play was intense. I had to repent from playing the game in order to get back on the path God laid out for me.
In believing your actions have no consequences, you give permission to expand the devil’s playground with your soul. Before you realize, you reach a level of self-sufficiency where you don’t believe in the need for God. The exact place the devil wants you to be.
Ephesians 4:27
...and do not give the devil an opportunity.
James 4:7
Submit therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
I gave the devil the opportunity and nearly drowned in a self-absorbing act by believing I needed it. By God’s grace I realized I was sinking in quicksand.
Adults and children play games regularly on their phone or computer for entertainment; however, to play games robs you of the joys of living and making changes in your life. You’re meant to realize your skills and talents and serve God with these abilities.
Fact—you are the devil’s prey.
His goal is to keep you numb, comfortable, remove any desire to seek God’s Kingdom. A Kingdom that expanded the day Jesus was born. A Kingdom that thrives and grows with the gift of the Holy Spirit. A Kingdom, preparing the return of Jesus.
We are living in a time where millions are bound to earthly desires:
Lust.
Greed.
Power.
Control.
Self-empowerment.
Each with consequences that impact everyone. It’s the rising tide that consumes with each open door to the enemy, without thinking you’re doing anything wrong.
It’s subtleness that snares you. It’s not in the belief that you sin if you commit adultery, murder, or steal. It’s the small inconsequential actions, you believe carry no weight. Actions you consider reasonable but betray you.
2 Corinthians 2:11
So that no advantage would be taken of us by Satan, for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
Be aware of Satan’s schemes.
He’ll do whatever he can to trick you. To keep you busy, distracted, entertained, and comfortable, so you don’t think about the need for forgiveness or in Jesus. However, Jesus is alive. He lives in you when you invite Him into your life. He transforms hearts, minds and souls. He is the Kingdom of God.
Living in His Kingdom...
Your relationships have depth and grow stronger.
Finances change.
Hope rises.
Prayers answered.
Miracles witnessed.
God calls you out from the wilderness, the untamed soul searching desperately to feel fulfilled.
He’s the knock on the door to be opened.
The knock that changes lives.
The knock that takes you out of the wilderness and into His Kingdom.
A sweet breath, that provides guidance.
He saves you through His mercy and His grace.
Now is the time to:
Close doors.
Remove distractions.
Read the Word.
Pray on your knees.
Be obedient to God’s plan.

It’s surrendering to the Cross that invites in the love of Christ. It’s calling out His name when you’re desperate and need help. It’s preparing your heart to receive Him. Like John the Baptist. He taught people to prepare their hearts with repentance, making the way for Jesus’s ministry.
Jesus heals with the fire of the Holy Spirit. He never leaves you as the Holy Spirit resides in you, all you need is to invite Him in.
Over two thousand years ago, the prophesies came true with Jesus’s birth.
Scripture still needs to be fulfilled. Jesus will return, and it will happen soon.
The harvest has begun.
The clock is ticking.
It’s time to choose.
Time to pray for your soul.
Pray for your salvation.
Pray your ears will hear and your eyes will see.
Luke 11:10
For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks, it will be opened.
It’s time to open the door.
