Who is the Holy Spirit?

The end is the beginning. The beginning is the end. Like yin and yang our souls battle for balance between light and dark. So, it is with the new age indoctrination. You grow from seeking peace within yourself, relying on guidance from the universe, spirit guides, animal spirits, symbolism, crystals, mediation, worshipping angels, many of which aren’t mentioned in scripture. The ultimate goal, to be Christ like, without prayer, learning scripture, or surrendering to Christ Jesus.

It's a falsehood blinding millions from the truth, and the main reason, I created this blog. I’m a reformed new ager, who followed this practice for six years, a practice that took me away from God and placed me in the pit of darkness, (my testimony).

The only way to redemption and salvation is through repentance and forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

His forgiveness blesses you with the Holy Spirit.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

John 15:26

But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.

John 16:7

I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.

John 20:22

And then Jesus did something remarkable: “He breathed on them and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit’”

The Holy Spirit is born from Jesus’s sacrifice and overpowering death. Through Him, the Holy Spirit is given to anyone who asks to be saved by Jesus, repents, and follows Him.

Many people saved in the name of Jesus experience immediate rebirth. Old patterns are washed away and replaced with an immense feeling of freedom. He heals you from the darkness that plagues all of us who live without God’s grace, and washes you clean from the inside out. It literally feels like your soul is bathed in His light. It’s a process that can’t be denied no matter how you come to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior.

Take the story of a courageous young teen, Christina, from the book, ‘When a Woman Overcomes Life’s Hurt’s’ by Cindi McMenamin. Christina had a horrendous childhood. Both parents, drug dealers and addicts on the run from the law. They lived in the Mojave Desert in a shelter made from 27 doors the father purchased at an auction. The washroom was a hole in the ground, and the bath a 5-gallon bucket of water.

When she was nine a bus approached their dwelling. A man stepped out and asked if her and her brother would be interested in attending the Vacation Bible School. The mother didn’t care if they went, so they got on the bus.

At the service, they were overcome with the kindness of strangers, as it was an expression not shared in their home. Touched by the service and a desire for peace, they gave their lives to Jesus Christ.

Although Christina had no mentor or bible, she was guided by the Holy Spirit, which came to light as a young teenager. A man came into their home, approached her mother, and asked, ‘how much’. A dreadful feeling overcame Christina, as she knew something bad was about to happen. She gathered her other siblings, went into another room, and prayed. She called to the Lord for help. When she sensed a feeling of peace and confidence, she came into the room where the man was waiting with her mother. The man made eye contact with Christina, then bolted from the house.

Her eyes welled with tears, and her body shook from the intensity of the moment. She went to check on her siblings and found them asleep. Then she checked on her parents, and they were asleep. In her words, “it was if God had put His hand over the entire home and hushed it—as if He lulled everyone to sleep”.

Christina is now in her mid-thirties, married with four children, is a speaker for women’s groups, director of a 200-member Vacation Bible School, and walks in confidence in the One who pulled her out of the pit.

The Holy Spirit blesses you with peace in times of desperation. He is the bridge between Jesus and our Heavenly Father. Brings unity, joy, transformation, and freedom from chains of darkness. He is the song, protector, and blesses you with gifts.

The gifts are unique to each individual and sometimes you don’t receive them immediately, as when you encounter Jesus, you become a work in progress. He becomes your teacher, presenting opportunities for you to learn and grow by developing an intimate relationship with Him. His goal is for you to place your faith and trust in Him. Even if you struggle with your faith after being saved by Him, He will always be with you, waiting in the light.

2 Timothy 2:13

If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

You are never alone. He is always with you. And if you doubt...

1 Corinthians 12-3

Therefore, I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus is cursed,” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

When you connect with Jesus through the written word, you find your worries and fears begin to fade. You begin to walk with confidence, filled with His peace, like Christina. Once she felt peace and confidence, she entered the room where her mother and man were waiting, filled with the Holy Spirit, and the man fled. The Holy Spirit not only gives you peace and confidence, He is your warrior, prepared to fight the battles for you.

In life, you develop from lessons learned, but there is one thing everyone seeks—peace.

John 16:33

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Jesus is alive. He lives in each person who surrenders to Him through the Holy Spirit. He is our salvation, rock, fortress, deliverer of our sins. When you seek His face in everything you do, He changes you. Attachments to things weaken, along with your fear, anger, and resentments towards others. He is the miracle worker, ready to take your hand, lead you out of the darkness that surrounds each of us every day.

We do our best to navigate through the troubles of the world, but these problems can distract and derail your intentions for a life of peace, joy, and happiness. A motto I strived towards as a new ager, asking the universe to intervene, relying on methodologies that provided joy and peace, but this peace wasn’t blessed by God.

It's in times of desperation, you can be led astray. My advice, be aware of your choices and ask if it fills your soul with permanent peace.

However, what you choose is a personal decision, and, for some, not an easy one to make. There are many misconceptions about the church, and Christianity.

I’ve witnessed and experienced the peace of the Holy Spirit, so have millions of others. It’s real, and so is your decision on what you believe.

Blog-Twisted Roots

Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?

As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination.

Fine Art Photography

I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal, but I did it!

I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or nature available for wall décor.
