Does God Answer Prayers?
In a world upside down, where darkness rules, does God hear your prayers? If you are a child of God, saved by His Son, Jesus, and you ask with sincerity, your prayers are heard, as it’s through Jesus you reach the Father.
Without this relationship, your prayers are whispers in the wind, drifting without substance, with Jesus on the sidelines, patiently waiting for you to accept Him as your Lord and Savior. Then He can act and answer your prayers.
When you encounter Jesus, He teaches you to trust Him. A difficult undertaking when you place faith in the hands of the Son of God, who you can’t see. However, when you embark on this journey, He moves through you like a slow-moving stream, changing your heart in subtle ways you don’t even notice. You may think with Jesus in your life, you don’t change; but you do. Sometimes it takes a life changing event to understand and comprehend how Jesus moves in your life.
On January 3, 2024, I wrote a prayer for Jesus to intervene as I’d given up on life. And to be honest, all I wanted was for Him to rescue me, as I was spiritually, emotionally, and physically spent. I gave the battle to Him, surrendered, and prayed for a way out of a challenging marriage and financial hardship. I said the prayer for seven days, sealed it in an envelope and was guided by the Holy Spirit to open the letter in six months.
I didn’t open the letter on July 3rd but did on July 16th, 2024. When I read what I wrote, I realized how God answered my prayer! He opened the door to leave the marriage with the sale of our house. The revenue from the sale helped pay a large portion of the debt. This event was life changing as I told my spouse I wouldn’t be with him once the house sold. As I drove down the highway to my new home, all I could think of is, “I’m free!”
My new life is a miracle. I never thought or believed I’d have the courage to take a leap of faith and walk away from my life. However, I learned if you’re in a place that brings no joy, why stay, and suffer? I did for too many years. I stayed as I didn’t want to leave the familiarity, accept change to my daily routine, and leave a place I loved. It was a decision to remain stuck in the muck or jump and allow God to spread my wings and be the person He sees me as being. I jumped! And I’m so grateful. I don’t miss my home or the life I had in my marriage. All I see is today and a trust in God to guide me to the next phase in my life.
Are you one of those people, stuck in the muck, afraid to let go. If you are, my advice, take the leap. Life is precious. God wants you to live the life you’re meant to live. A life where you utilize your skills to glorify Him and encourage others.
I know what you’re thinking, “easy to say, difficult to do.”
I understand the attachment to your comfort zone even if its unpleasant, as most of us are afraid to leap into the unknown and place trust in a supernatural being. The difference, this entity is God, the creator of all, who knows more about you than you do. And He wants you to place your trust in Him so He can lead you to greener pastures.
Life isn’t meant to be lived in daily misery. It’s to be explored. To embrace the experience so you can shine your light on others. A light gifted when you make the choice for Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.
You may say, the Bible isn’t real. Yet archaeologists use the old and new testament to locate buildings, people, Kings, proving the content is historically correct.
The Bible is a compilation of 66 books written by 40 different authors from different countries, over a period of 1,500 years, yet the content reflects the same story.
Moreover, how do you explain 300 prophesises in the Old Testament fulfilled by Jesus in the New Testament. An impossibility, as how could prophets accurately predict events 400 years into the future, when Jesus was born, after the Old Testament was completed. And how would Jesus know to fulfil them.
You may deny Him, however, Jesus is real. When you accept His grace, He instantly begins to work in you. And the process is subtle. He gently changes you from the inside out. It’s not something you feel. It’s an awareness. Like the pit in your stomach when you know you sinned against Him. Or How you hear His gentle voice letting you know He is with you. Or the voice of the Holy Spirit which can be direct to guide you to change your ways.
You may say... I have a happy life and everything I want. Jesus is only real to religious fanatics. What has He ever done for me.
It is written in scripture...
Jesus is consistent. He doesn’t waver or change direction. He is the Prince of Peace and redeems your soul. Washes it clean and creates opportunities for you to live a peaceful life.
Peace isn’t gained by social status—the house you own, car you drive, clothes you wear, or your career. These goal driven accomplishments many believe will satisfy the soul. Yet many people who have everything, feel empty.
Many cut down church goers. Sadly, some have given the church a negative perception to nonbelievers. However, there are numerous churches that celebrate Jesus in a beautiful and meaningful way that is guided by scripture and the Holy Spirit.
Then there is the need to be in control of your life and not be bound to the laws in scripture. You desire freedom. To do, say, and act the way you want.
I get it!
Billions of people think the same way. They don’t believe or they search for alternate answers, like new age indoctrination, where with the power of thought, you can design your own reality. The perfect solution where you don’t have to rely on Jesus or God. I know, I was one of them. (My testimony)
Many adopt conformity, with the belief nothing will change. Or they accept the statement, “oh well, that’s life,” and carry on with the norm.
It’s difficult to comprehend someone loved you so much he willingly offered himself as a sacrifice. Someone who doesn’t know you. But He does. Jesus knows every cell in your body. He knows the darkness in your heart, but He also knows your light.
Perhaps it’s time to give Him a chance. To walk away from the material world and experience joy when you open your eyes to the morning light. To celebrate the victory of how much Jesus loves you and how He answers your prayers.
Allow Him to move through you, mold you, change your heart and fill you with His peace. Choose to jump!
God Bless,

Blog-Twisted Roots
Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?
As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination.
Fine Art Photography
I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal, but I did it!
I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or nature available for wall décor.
