No More Excuses: Let Go of Your Depravity
You can’t cling to your depravity as an excuse.
These words resound in my heart today. As I reflect on my actions and reactions they pinpoint—depravity. In the Bible, depravity is referred to our sinful and corrupt nature resulting from original sin. Daily we sin, however, it’s easy to blame being born with sin.
Sin comes in many forms, my worst, is resistance, especially when I’m hurting. When life throws a punch, I buckle. How about you? Do you let the circumstances of your life weigh you down?
It’s in these seasons we’re tested. For me, it takes a few days to rise up and get back on track; however, when I’m in these moments I want to be alone to suffer in silence. It’s only when I’m ready that I go to God. I journal, write a prayer and then submit.
However, God wants you to come to Him instantly. He doesn’t want you to hide behind your sin or from Him.
God never tires of your requests and needs. His understanding is beyond your comprehension. He’s there to give you strength when you’re weary. When you place your hope in Him, He renews your strength, so you can soar like an eagle.
These words are written to give you hope; however, when you hide behind depravity, their healing remedy is ignored, especially if you choose misery.
Consider these questions:
Do you want to be healed?
Do you want to be saved?
Do you want peace in your life?
God’s power works best in your weakness, strengthened by faith, in a loving God who sacrificed everything for your salvation through His Son, Jesus.
Jesus came to serve. To save the broken, sick and wounded.
In John 5:6, He approached the blind man by the pool and asked, “Do you want to get well?”
Do you want Jesus to help you?
Jesus in omnipresent. He sees you in the crowd of people hurting, your pain isn’t hidden from Him, it’s you that hides from Him.
I hide from the pain, unfairness, and challenges in life that never get easy. However, these are words I’ve chosen to rain upon me, words that lead me away from God. A God who has imprinted me with His love, as I know I’m His forever.
In my posts, How Your Thoughts Hold You Captive, and How Words Impact Your Life, I write on how your thoughts and words define your behaviours, actions and reactions. Even though, I fall down the rabbit hole of challenges that seem impossible to resolve, they’re not impossible to God. He holds the answer, solution, to renew your strength and give you hope. It’s in the words you believe about yourself and your life that define the outcome. It’s in the word of God that miracles happen.
Are you waiting for a miracle?
For the touch of God to renew your heart, mind and soul. To transform you to childlike wonder and awe. To give you strength so you can soar like an eagle.
God is everywhere and in everything.
In His Son, Jesus, there is no doubt, only love.
Yet, I am continuously faced with resistance, where I want to hide from the creator of all who loves me.
The main reason, I allow the enemy to win. I give him temporary reign. That’s all it takes for him to consume me with lies. The spiritual battle that never ends and creeps its ugly head when life throws a curve ball you didn’t expect.
Can you relate?
One thing I know for sure, is that I’m tired, exhausted and, at times, ready to collapse from the pressures in this life. However, this ONLY happens when I resist the God of my life.
When I focus on the Holy Trinity, my heart overflows with peace, hope, and a knowing I’m deeply loved. God will NOT abandon me, nor will He abandon you. It’s the framework of your mind that traps you with untruths and can be replaced with positive statements in Christ. Like...
Why do I always struggle financially? When will it ever end?
Replace...
My life is rich and full of abundance through the grace of my Lord and my God.
Or
Nothing I do ever works.
Replace...
Everything I do matters in the eyes of the Lord. My efforts will be rewarded and I will, through faith and trust in the Lord, prosper.
It’s putting to death the false words and replacing those words with words that have a positive impact.
Words are power. The word of God is living. Nothing is impossible for Him if you believe.
This was circulated at my last Bible Study...
Time to Pray
I got up early one morning and rushed into the day; I had so much to accomplish that I didn’t have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me and heavier came each task. “Why doesn’t God help me?” I wondered. He answered, “You didn’t ask.”
I wanted to see joy and beauty, but the day toiled on, gray and bleak; I wondered why God didn’t show me. He said, “But you didn’t seek.”
I tried to come into God’s presence; I used all my keys at the lock. God gently and lovingly chided, “My child, you didn’t knock.”
I woke up early this morning and paused before entering the day; I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.
The beginning of the day can set the tone for the entire day. You wake up with a resistant heart; resistance will follow you throughout the day.
You wake up with bitterness; it will cling to you all day long.
But if you awaken and invite God into your day, He’s with you every moment, to provide comfort, strength, encouragement, and love.
Each of us has our difficult seasons. Some more difficult than others. However, when you invite God into your day, you will always rise, like the sun, its rays surrounding you in the grace of God, focused to overcome the challenges with His patience and understanding. Love like He loves. Understand like He understands.
Give the battle to God.
Reframe your thoughts.
Win in His grace.
To help in your journey, I wrote a Prayer Journal based on John 3:30, He must Increase, I must Decrease. The purpose of this journal is to recognize the lies you tell yourself and replace with scripture to win the battle, combined with prayer.
The journal is a digital download where you can print as many pages as you need when you need them. It’s been essential in building my relationship with the Lord.
My prayer for you is to recognize the stirrings of your heart, and ask, am I living in alignment with God’s plan for me? Is this how God would react in this situation? There is always a better choice that will enlighten and lift you up and that’s in Jesus.
John 14:6
I am the way, the truth and the life.
He is God in human flesh, who walked the earth to teach and provide an open door for your salvation. It’s in sacrifice, you receive God’s grace, by walking away from thoughts of depravity and replace with thoughts of gratitude for all that God sacrificed to save your soul.
God Bless,

Blog-Twisted Roots
Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?
As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination. It also highlights other areas to inspire and encourage Christians in their walk of faith.
Prayer Journals
To help you in your journey, I created Prayer Journals, to build a closer bond with Christ Jesus.
As you grow in your faith, it’s important to dedicate time to be with God in prayer, a quiet space to meet with Him, and invite Him into your daily thoughts. In doing so, you will experience His peace and presence in every aspect of your life.
Fine Art Photography
I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal. When the opportunity presented itself, I knew it was time to fulfill my dream.
I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or fine art available for wall décor.
