What Does Freedom Mean to You?

In our world today, freedom has been an overwhelming stand for our rights, as leaders globally attempt to cripple resources we need to survive. In Europe, the incredible unity of farmers where they grid locked entry ways into cities and received victory for their efforts. An amazing triumph of people standing together for their livelihood and assurance food supply wouldn’t diminish.

Sadly, in Canada, there was no victory when COVID rules were enacted against our truckers, forcing them to comply with vaccinations at the border.

Corruption continues today against Canada’s oil and gas industry, so far as to voice consideration for a penalty if you advertise support or services of the industry, the vital energy source of Canada’s revenue stream.

In the US, Texas fights for border control as the federal government has turned a blind eye on providing protection from illegals entering their state, despite repeat requests for assistance.

The word ‘freedom’ is on the lips of many. Freedom from tyranny and government overrule into our personal life.

What happens globally impacts your quality of life. On top of family dramas, financial hardship, health issues for yourself or loved ones, life can press hard on you like mortar, crush your spirit, and hope for freedom.

How do you rise above this mess?

As a reformed new ager, I used to depend on oracle cards or mediums for advice. When the card I pulled displayed a positive message, I’d jump for joy. If the medium provided encouragement, I’d feel lifted with information my situation would improve.

Others talk to friends or loved ones, get professional counselling, or seek the one who desires your happiness. The one who waits for you to seek His face, who has a zeal for you to encounter Him so He can fill you with His peace, Jesus.

I reflect on the Pastor’s sermon at church today, where he provided an insightful message. There is a process, consistent with scripture—you fall, scatter, then rise again.

The Pastor referenced scripture where Solomon built the first temple. It was destroyed by the Babylonians. When it crashed to the ground, people scattered. The second temple took 46 years to build and was destroyed by the Romans. People fled. When Jesus died, His apostles scattered.

These words from scripture connect separation from God’s love. It can leave you confused, like an ant hill attacked, they scatter for safety to move and rebuild. So do we.

Survival is instinctive. It drives you forward and unites you with others over similar events. However, when you place your survival and unity in God’s hands, he will change you from the inside out.

In life, you fall, scatter, and then rise above the chaos. There’s no question that many who don’t have Jesus in their heart endure the storm. They persevere.

The difference with Jesus in your life, is the overwhelming sense of peace. He builds your faith with a knowing in your heart He is there, gently guiding you along the path He has planned for you.

This freedom is irreplaceable. It’s with you always if you seek His face and listen to Him.

You know where to find Him—the written word. You know how to hear His voice, the gift of the Holy Spirit. You know how to be encouraged, sound advice from Christians. You know how to communicate with Him—prayer.

Jesus is there to take your mistakes and make them beautiful.

You are created to shine His light. You are here to seek His face. He sacrificed His life so you could be free. To feel safe to open your heart, place your trust and faith in Him, as He knows what you need. With Jesus beside you, there is no doubt, or fear, as the Holy Spirit is not a spirit of bashfulness, but a spirit of restraint. It guides, nurtures, and comforts you.

I’ve experienced love from the Holy Spirit in my dreams and with song. It’s beautiful. It’s freedom, and it’s yours if you ask.

Blog - Twisted Roots

Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?

As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination.

Fine Art Photography

I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal, but I did it!

I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or nature available for wall décor.
