Wishing Well of False Promises

When you throw a coin into a fountain of wishes, it remains untouched. Temptation to steal is lessened as each coin is viewed as a person’s secret wish. And taking it could break the bond preventing the wish coming to fruition.

Although, it’s a fun practice you do with your family or on your own, there is no obvious guarantee it will come true. More importantly—who you are making the wish to. If not to God, then who is it?

It’s not a prayer.

A prayer is reverence to God.

Communion with His presence.

Praising His glory.

And so much more than a coin toss.

Like a rock skipping across the sparkling surface of a calm lake, your prayer has the same impact. When presented, it brings you closer to God as you place your request into His hands, trusting He will deliver. He answers in subliminal ways. However, like the rock, your prayer ripples in a circular motion. It may not be answered when you’d like. However, it is answered in God’s perfect timing.

It’s a process of trusting God. That He’ll answer at the right time. When it delivers the best results.

Prayers are the main ingredient to growing a relationship with God. It’s how trust is built.

I’ve learned through prayers answered, that I trust God in everything. He knows my heart, needs, desires, passions, and what I need to learn to be the vessel He intends me to be—to deliver God’s precious word through the Holy Spirit.

His work never ends in your life until you meet him in the field of lilies. Then you’ll understand. However, before you see Him face to face, you will experience tribulations and joy.

For me it was accepting His joy. The realization of His immense love and how life is built on the foundation of His love. With His peace and joy, I want to soar like an eagle.

Isaiah 40:31...

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles...

God answered a plea in my heart. A beckon call of “what am I going to do Lord? How am I going to meet my added financial obligations?”

God is sooo good. He provided an open door, a new opportunity I believed would never happen. When you pray and others pray for you, God steps up and leads you into a new chapter that serves others as well as yourself.

I found myself, after months of feeling depressed and angry, in unknown territory.

Bathing in His joy.

At first, I didn’t know how to rest in this new heart elevation. It’s when I learned God’s love is the foundation that everything shifted.

1 John 4:19

"We love because he first loved us.”

It’s joining the chorus of creation in worshipping Him, singing, “Hallelujah”, and being grateful for all that has been given, even the seasons that are challenging.

Psalm 37:4

"Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart".

Philippians 4:4

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again, I will say, rejoice".

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

In prayer, I always presented requests based on my discomfort. How I longed to be free of the constant pressures of life. I’d plead for God to rescue me. And then get discouraged when nothing changed.

What I’ve learned of late—verses are meant to be put into action. With living in His joy, I’ve learned to follow Philippians 4:6 by being grateful for new opportunities, grateful for His deep love for me, and then present my requests. He answers in beautiful miraculous ways that, as aforementioned, makes me want to soar like an eagle.

God created you as a beautiful creation, which I wrote in my last blog. He doesn’t want you to continuously suffer. His desire is for you to rejoice in all of His creations, listen to sound of the songbird, pause and inhale the sweet scent of spring, feel the ocean spray against your cheek, be still with Him surrounded by majestic peaks or evergreens. Embrace the gentle breeze and be thankful to God for His glory is everywhere.

Above all, don’t fall into darkness—the hand of the enemy. He does his utmost to attack your vulnerabilities and convince you that nothing will change in your life.

More importantly, recognize stubbornness, as it keeps you trapped in false realities, and avoid assumptions.

When you assume without facts, it leads you and others down a path that is false. A snare that is easy to get caught in.

And stubbornness is a beast in itself. A difficult bridge to break, as it makes you deaf and blind to options. It closes your heart as you become tight lipped with a refusal to give in and admit you’re wrong.

This mindset can lead to devastating consequences. Loss of friendships, jobs, estrangement with family members, and impact your health. There is no wishing well that can rescue you from your own stubbornness. It’s only through admission and forgiveness these walls can be broken.

The Lord said to me:

“Be of strong courage. Know that I am with you. I will never forsake you. Take my hand, walk with me. Let my peace calm the troubled waters in your heart. Be still with me, for I AM your God. You are not alone. Your life will flourish. Trust in the plan I have for you, as you have a future. Soon the tides will change.”

Walk with God, not against Him. He will reveal the secrets in your heart so you can be free.

Free of being locked in false beliefs.

Free of assuming and trusting God’s path for you.

Free from worry and feeling alone.

Its living in and for the Lord, you are freed. Jesus paid the price on the cross. What is done is done and can never be undone.

Jesus completes you as He is in you when you say, yes—Lord, take my heart, remove my false beliefs, destroy the bridge of stubbornness, set me free to embrace your love, forgiveness and peace. Mold my heart to a heart filled with rejoicing and celebrating your glory.

It’s never too late to ask the Lord to come into your heart. His hand is stretched out for you to take hold. And He longs to hold you. To comfort you, wash away the dirt, make you clean, and white as snow.

He is merciful, patient, and desires to embrace you with His love. To break chains that bind and turn your heart away from Him.

He offers you freedom and a journey on a sun lit path that leads to enlightenment, salvation, and redemption.

His way isn’t full of rules that many believe.

The only thing He asks is to be still with Him, allow Him to move in your life, and to love others. In return, He refines your life like a rare vintage—slowly, patiently, with purpose, and gives you wings to soar like an eagle.

Psalm 46:10

"Be still, and know that I am God."

John 13:34

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

To assist you in your journey, I’ve created Prayer Journals to build your relationship with the Holy Trinity. Pages designed for you to communicate with God, His Son Jesus, and prayer guided by the Holy Spirit.

These Prayer Journals have been pivotal in my growth. It’s where God reveals His love and guidance. I’ve been awestruck by His words and have shared to encourage others how much God loves you. How He is present in your life as He is in you. All you need is ten to twenty minutes to sit and be in awe of a loving God who eagerly waits for you to ask the words, “Heavenly Father, what would you like to share with me today.”

Blog-Twisted Roots

Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?

As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of the word of God and how He perceives new age indoctrination.

Moreover, it’s written to inspire and encourage Christians in their walk of faith.

Prayer Journals

To help you in your faith journey, I created Prayer Journals, to build a closer bond with Christ Jesus.

As you grow, it’s important to dedicate time to be with God in prayer, a quiet space to meet with Him, and invite Him into your daily thoughts. In doing so, you will experience His peace and presence in every aspect of your life.

Nature and Fine Art Photography

I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal. When the opportunity presented itself, I knew it was time to fulfill my dream.

I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or fine art available for wall décor.
