You Are God’s Bride

Jeremiah 2:32

"Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me for days without number.

We forget God in our sinful nature. In behaviours and emotions, buried underneath layers of stress, fear, and doubt. You forget to lean on Him in moments of overwhelm and choose to deal with situations on your own. However, when you don’t include God, you miss the main piece of the puzzle, His peace. It’s His peace that calms rattled nerves and anxiety. Yet how many forget God in stressful situations. From the scripture above, an exponential number.

I was reminded this past week, how forgetting God, created a mountain of stress.

I accepted an impossible challenge in a course I’m taking on improving my sales in my ETSY shop. The goal is to list 25 new listings in a month. For some reason, I’ll blame it on brain fog, I stated I’d do it in a week. One listing involves design creation, ten mock-ups, content and a video. Plus, working in more than one platform to have the product listed in the shop. To be precise, it involves a number of steps. In a normal week, I can do three. So why I said I could do 25 in one week—I must’ve been on another dimensional plane. Since then, I’ve been extremely stressed. I put all my to-dos on hold to complete this task. I still have 7 more to do, so my day tomorrow, being Monday, will be completing the remainder. Thankfully, I’m using three different products, for the same design for phone cases, which reduced the need to create 25 original pieces.

However, I allowed this challenge to heighten my stress and forget about God. When I succeeded in setting time with Him, I was in awe of His love for me.

He told me:

“Walk in the field of lilies with me so I may refresh your heart. Sing the Songs of Solomon so you can be uplifted and filled with my grace. Know my love for you. How I cherish you. You are my love.”

He reminded me:

The Song of Solomon 2:1

I am the Rose of Sharon, the lily of the valleys.

The Song of Solomon 4:15

You are a garden spring, a well of fresh water, and flowing streams from Lebanon.

And further said:

“See how I love thee. Your eyes are like doves that melt my heart when you’re open to me. Don’t drift away into darkness as I see how you drift and leave my side. I am always with you, for my love has no end. Don’t abandon me my love, believe and trust that I am the Rose of Sharon and so much more. You have a purpose. Take my hand so I can show you the way. Don’t turn away, follow me.

The Song of Solomon 4:1

How beautiful you are! Your eyes are like doves behind your veil...

The Song of Solomon 2:16

My beloved is mine, and I am his; He pastures his flock among the lilies.

“I gather lilies for you and wait for your voice. I am here for you in the fields of alabaster and song. I am with you. Don’t linger in fear, linger in hope and faith that I am here for you. Don’t fret for fear and worry are wasteless and lead to more fear and worry.”

When I read the words God gave me through the Holy Spirit, it pressed the point on how I need to lean on Him. To seek Him in every waking moment, and with every breath.

The Song of Solomon 3:2

I must seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him but did not find him.

The Song of Solomon 3:4

When I found him whom my soul loves; I held on to him and would not let him go...

I never imagined the depth of God’s love on an intimate level, as I viewed the Song of Solomon as love letters between a bride and groom. I didn’t interpret it as being the bride in the eyes of God.

Scripture refers to the word ‘bride’ 7 times. I refer to a few below. It’s interesting to note that symbolically ‘bride’ is known as the church.

Isaiah 61:10

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of salvation, he has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with a garland, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

However, in the Song of Solomon, the bride’s description is intimate:

Song of Solomon in Chapter 7:1-4

The curves of your hips are like jewels...

Your navel is like a round goblet that never lacks mixed wine.

Your belly is like a heap of wheat, surrounded with lilies.

Your two breasts are like fawns, twins of a gazelle.

Your neck is like a tower of ivory.

This is how God sees you. You are the height of His love. You are His bride.

Revelation 22:17

The Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" He who hears, let him say, "Come!" He who is thirsty, let him come. He who desires, let him take the water of life freely.

“I give you a heart of flesh, so you’re not bound to stone. I love you like a gazelle roaming free in the wilderness, under my protection, love, guiding you with every breath, forever safe. Rest in my love and allow my peace to pour over you so you’re cup runneth over.”

“My love blossoms in the field of lilies as I wait for thee to open your heart, embrace my love and my words. Spend time with me, as I will silence the troubles in your heart. I will set my seal upon thee. My protection and love will have no end. Sit with me a while and know that I Am Your God.”

“You are a flower plucked from my garden. Perfect in my eyes.”

These are further words from my Prayer Journal.

To know such love isn’t just for me, it’s for you. This is the vastness of God’s love. He loves every inch of you, for He created you with love. His love is complete. He waits in the field of lilies, to hear your voice.

  • Call out to Him.

  • Sit with Him.

  • Learn from Him.

  • Follow Him.

What you seek most in life, is to be loved. Invite God’s love into your heart, as you are precious in His eyes, and cherished. His love in infinite. He has plans to give you hope and bless you with prosperity.

I know in my heart, God has plans for me I can’t even begin to imagine. One of them, is writing and creating Prayer Journals. To date, I’ve created three with different themes. One is based on Prayer, the second is allowing Jesus to increase in your life, and the third is to worship the Lord, rejoice in His goodness. These journals are based on blog posts, and this post will be my next creation based on God’s intimate love for you. For now, you can download any one of these Prayer Journals from my ETSY Shop and print as many copies as you need.

My prayer for you, seek His face, and allow His love to complete you.

God Bless,

Hi, I’m Cathy.

I’m a mixed blend, excited to share all I offer...

Blog-Twisted Roots

Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?

As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination. It also highlights other areas to inspire and encourage Christians in their walk of faith.

Prayer Journals

To help you in your journey, I created Prayer Journals, to build a closer bond with Christ Jesus.

As you grow in your faith, it’s important to dedicate time to be with God in prayer, a quiet space to meet with Him, and invite Him into your daily thoughts. In doing so, you will experience His peace and presence in every aspect of your life.

Fine Art Photography

I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal. When the opportunity presented itself, I knew it was time to fulfill my dream.

I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or fine art available for wall décor.
