I was sooo excited when I saw this grey horned owl perched on a fence with bushes covered in hoar frost behind it.
We were travelling the rural back roads in central Alberta, close to my home town, when I saw it.
My hubby drives a lifted dodge diesel truck, loud enough to awaken sleeping beauty, and I literally prayed the sound wouldn’t scare off the owl.
We slowly inched towards it.
I already had my 300mm lens mounted ready to take aim and shoot, as soon as we were close enough to get the shot.
I literally wanted to crawl out of my skin with excitement when I succeeded. Within seconds, after I captured this image, the owl flew away.
