Twisted Beliefs—the Remedy of Spiritual Confusion

We are the twisted roots of life. Like the rise and fall of tides, our actions determine our beliefs, and our beliefs determine who we are. Beliefs formed from something you were told not to do as a child, or from a spouse, employer, or friend. Beliefs on what spiritual journey to follow.

To question those beliefs can open a door to conflict. But you have a choice to fight for change or remain silent and follow beliefs taught by others. Beliefs born from popular society trends that can lead to spiritual confusion.

As a reformed new ager, the beliefs I’m addressing are ones formed in new age indoctrination. A spiritual culture that is growing globally, as well as the societal perception of the church and Christianity.

We battle with hardships, struggles, and trauma in our lives, which can lead to depression, making it easy to remain stuck in the muckiness of life, and blind to recognizing solutions that lead to salvation.

John 6:8-35

“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.”

To place your faith in Christ, will fill you up. Struggles become lessons in developing a closer relationship with him. The more you know Jesus, the more you’ll be saved.

It’s demons who keep you in a place where you don’t see the light, only darkness, and the new age culture is a wonderful playground of opportunities to keep you in their grips.

The other component of spiritual confusion is the perception of religion.

Many relate religion to wars, terrorists, corruption, or view religious beliefs as too rigid.

It’s a sad truth, many have died in religious wars. But is God to blame? If we are the sheep, led by the Shepherd, who came in the name of the Father, who created the ten commandments...

There’d be no wars or terrorists. If people were followers of Christ, they’d feel conviction at the thought of killing another human from the Holy Spirit, and the pain and suffering would never have happened.

Other views that pertain to the church is corruption and being misled, which is true in some cases. The goal is to research the history of any church and take into consideration the foundation of how the church was built and that the ministry is based solely on the written word.

My first day of attending church in nearly twenty years, I was apprehensive. I didn’t know what to expect. Many shook my hand and welcomed me. The sermon was deeply moving. I admit the first day was overwhelming, but it’s where I belong.

There will always be something about a church you may disagree with. However, if it feeds your soul with scripture, makes you feel part of a community, then you’re on the right track. However, be wary of religious congregations that have taken the word of God and manipulated it to serve man’s purpose.

Further issues regarding the church are many want freedom to do as they choose. It’s another reason why people don’t like organized religion. I was one of them. A benefit of new age—freedom of practicing at your leisure and never held accountable for your actions.

I used to view people who went to church as church goers or people with a holier than thou attitude. When Jesus is in your heart you learn you have no authority to judge, only Jesus does, and Jesus’ one commandment:

I’ve learned that following Christ is freely admitting you are a believer. That He is the Son of God. The sacrificial lamb who paid for our sins so we could be saved.

Jesus is not religious. He is Counsellor, Teacher, Messiah, Emanuel, Prince of Peace, and acted on behalf of the one who sent him, His Father.

The societal beliefs attached to the name of Jesus is also significant.

Consider the billion times a second his name is used in vain. No other name in history is insulted as much as the name of Jesus Christ. Why?

The devil and his path to destroy the good name of the Son of God, by making people believe it’s socially acceptable to use his name when you curse.

For new agers, it’s an opportunity to validate you’re on a spiritual journey, as Jesus is considered an ascended master and not recognized as the one sent by God, who paid for our sins.

To me it was an easy way of saying I was spiritual without having to go through Christ.

I happily relied on crystals, oracle cards, readings, jewelry, spiritual coaches, reiki, and mediums to provide solutions for the problems in my life. I spent a fortune following a path that offered no salvation.

To follow Jesus, the only expense is a bible and donations you choose to give at whatever church you attend.

The BIG difference when you’re saved, it’s permanent. There is no need to continually search for remedies, or more crystals in your house to counteract your emotions or clearing meditations during moon cycles to feel healed.

All you need to do is say the words, you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and he will come to you.

My miracle was the fact he came to me after I had denied him for decades and saturated myself in a practice viewed by his Holy Father as an abomination. My request wasn’t surrendering to him as my Lord and Savior but to be saved from the onslaught of persecution towards him from a demon, which was tearing me apart. I was fearful of my sanity and reached out to him to make it go away.

After I was saved, I wanted to know him better, and wrote this prayer:

My life has a new focus, to know Jesus, as my Lord and Saviour.

In Jesus, you will never be abandoned. I left him decades ago, and yet the instant I called for his help, he was there for me.

I no longer walk in blindness. My purpose now is to point new agers to the truth of how they’re being deceived.

If you have questions, read Doreen Virtue’s book, ‘Deceived No More’. Doreen was well-known in the new age culture who has been saved by Jesus. Her book led me to Christ and my salvation. It opened my eyes to the truth on new age and how God is a loving God. He is constant. Unchanging, and His arms are open to anyone who seek Him.

Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?

As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination.

Fine Art Photography

I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal, but I did it!

I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or nature available for wall décor.
