Do You Believe God is all Around You?

As you read scripture, the Holy Spirit guides you, where certain verses in different seasons of your life have a stronger impact. You may read the same verse more than once, then one day the words resound in your heart. Full awareness of its meaning become apparent. So it was with me when I read Psalm 139.

Recently separated, I find myself in a new chapter of my life. But I also feel like my life is on hold, as I don’t know God’s plan for me. It’s been a difficult season, and I find myself drifting. However, as I read this Psalm, it filled my heart with hope on how much God loves me.

Psalm 139:1-18

Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know when I sit down and when I get up; You understand my thoughts from far away. You scrutinize my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. Even before there is a word on my tongue, Behold, Lord, You know it all. You have encircled me behind and in front, And placed Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is too high, I cannot comprehend it.

Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend to heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. If I take up the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, Even there Your hand will lead me, And Your right hand will take hold of me. If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, And the light around me will be night,” Even darkness is not dark to You, And the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.

For You created my innermost parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, because I am awesomely and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You. When I was made in secret, And skillfully formed in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my formless substance; And in Your book were written. all the days that were ordained for me. When as yet there was not one of them.

How precious also are Your thoughts for me, God! How vast is the sum of them! Were I to count them, they would outnumber the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.

If only You would put the wicked to death, God; Leave me, you men of bloodshed. For they speak against You wickedly, And Your enemies take Your name in vain. Do I not hate those who hate You, Lord? And do I not loathe those who rise up against You? I hate them with the utmost hatred; They have become my enemies.

Search me, God, and know my heart; Put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there is any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.

God skillfully formed you from the depths of the earth. Wove you in your mother’s womb. Knitted you intricately and with love.

You are His masterpiece.

He knows your thoughts before you voice the words. There is nowhere, He isn’t. His loving thoughts outnumber the sand. Imagine the grains of sand in desserts, beneath the ocean and beaches. It’s staggering. This is how precious in His thoughts you are to Him.

There isn’t one second, He doesn’t know where you are. In His company, you are never alone. Even in difficult times, you can rely on Him. You can ask Him to search your heart, test your anxious and dark thoughts and lead you into His light.

  • He is the light of the world.

  • The light in all life.

  • You’re made in His image.

  • He became a man so you could understand the extent of His love for you.

  • He died so you could be pulled from the darkness and brought into the light.

Many have experienced His healing grace, been transformed, as He wipes away pain, cleans the slate so you can start new, refreshed, and reborn.

Yet, given all He offers, we doubt.

Life plunges us into seasons. At times, winter can overcome you, like drifts of snow, blown by the wind, you’re unable to plant yourself in solid ground. You lose your way, as the outstretched hand of the Lord grows dim in your eyes. But not in His. He is with you, holding you, and praying you make the choice to accept Him in your heart, so He can fill it with His peace. To place your pain, worries, anxieties, fears, and triumphs at His feet.

When I asked Jesus to help me in my crisis (my testimony), I didn’t think He’d help me. Why would He come and help a person who turned away from Him, followed a practice that believed in looking inward and building myself above Him. Yet, He came. He rescued me and gave me a new life. And has repeatedly been there for me.

He desires with earnest to know you. To build a relationship with you and show you how much He loves you.

It may be a difficult to comprehend the Son of God, Lord Jesus, wants a relationship with you. It’s more than the words in scripture, although scripture is essential in building the relationship. He’s a friend, desiring your company. To talk to Him and yes, He responds. The more you get to know Him through scripture, the more you’ll hear from Him.

It’s a relationship where no matter the seasons in your life, He is always there.

Yet you resist, turn the other way, especially when you’re experiencing seasons of drought, and can’t stop sinking in quicksand. It’s in these seasons, you need to keep your eyes fixed on Him. Through Him you’re granted His peace and guidance. It takes courage, a leap of faith, like diving into murky waters where you can’t see the bottom, but you jump believing He will catch you, and He will.

He’s not a ship of empty promises. His word is truth. It’s binding. Once you accept Him, you are forever His. Safe. Protected. Loved beyond measure and blessed with His grace.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Meditate the words of this Psalm. Allow them to pour over you with clarity and understanding. Know that His truth and love for you is immeasurable. He fulfills you, sets you free, and leads you onto a path where there is no fear, only an abundance of love.

God Bless,

Blog-Twisted Roots

Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?

As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination.

Fine Art Photography

I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal, but I did it!

I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or nature available for wall décor.
