Finding Peace Through Resistance

I started my day with annoyance over small insignificant things. I was running late for work, the lineup to get my favourite coffee was too long to wait, and my boss arrived earlier than usual. So, I didn’t have the option to grab breakfast or a different drink at the charming coffee shop across the street. Inwardly, I was grumbling and miserable. Silly, annoying events. But what triggered a stream of tears was a young woman doing social media work for the downtown business revitalization zone in the small city I reside.

To back track, I studied social media and website design for 2 years, promoted my services four times a week on social media platforms for a year and a half, and only secured a few clients. To watch her do something I worked hard to learn triggered emotions, but these emotions had nothing to do with the woman but my own pain.

I planted seeds of resentment and bitterness at a life I wish I could do over. To make different decisions, as what I wanted to avoid was end up with no financial security and, I failed.

This reality pierced my heart as how can God love me when my life is a messy pool of pain, hopelessness, and feelings of rejection.

This belief caused resistance in giving my whole heart to Jesus. He told me, ‘I’m a loving child of God.’ My swampy imperfections, defiance, and resistance, all based on a perspective nothing good will happen, as nothing worked in the past six years. Yet, He loves me. Years as a new ager, doing my utmost to manifest a new chapter, a new life where I could spread my wings and fly with my back turned against Him.

What I failed to recognize is Jesus comforts us when He sees our tears, sorrows, pain, and brings new life into our hearts when we surrender to Him.

Now, I find myself at the feet of Christ, asking Him to grow my faith, to take my hand and lead me to greener pastures and be free of the pain in my life.

But to change means taking His hand, let go of a marriage, with no financial security, and believe the Almighty God will point me to where I need to be. A step-in faith He will be there for me as He promised...

These words lift my heart in hope knowing God is with me and I have nothing to fear. So, I surrendered my all to Him. Not to the universe, which new age indoctrination encourages you to do, but to God who created the universe and all life.

A loving Father who loves us so much He sent His own Son as a sacrificial lamb so we could be saved from evil, by His blood.

Jesus became our atonement.

Blood is referenced throughout scripture as the essence of purification and protection. It’s the life blood that washes away sin. And, with the application of Jesus’ blood, we are continuously cleansed of sin.

The blood of Christ will cover your pain, burdens, and events you can’t control. He has comforted me in physical pain and brought peace to my emotional cries.

I often ask, do I deserve His love? His forgiveness?

Jesus loves to save sinners. In the gospels, He surrounded himself with sinners as His main purpose is to save us from our sins.

Our lives are a tapestry of self-seeking remedies and fulfillment, as we live in a world where me, myself and I come first. However, we’re ripe to be harvested for redemption.

Did you know when one sinner repents, the angels rejoice.

Luke 15:10

Jesus said, "I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."

Not only does Jesus feel your pain but celebrates your victory when you repent!

When you choose to follow Him and realize He took your place on the cross so you could be saved, you want to learn more and more about Him. All He asks in return is to follow His commandments...

“You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind” (Matthew 22:37). “And,” Jesus said, “the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.'”

The trials and tribulations of life can wrap so tight that following these simple rules can easily be discarded. On the flipside loving a neighbor as yourself can be difficult when you don’t love yourself.

So many put their worth at the bottom of a well, leave it there, never asking for help, as they don’t believe they’re worthy.

In God’s eyes all are worthy to sit at His table. No one who asks to be saved will be turned away.

Do you want to walk with a forgiving God, who will wipe away your tears, sorrow, pain, and celebrate your victories?

Then awaken in the truth, He is the lamp that grows brighter the more you know Him and love Him. For me, it’s been a beautiful and wonderful journey. A journey that awaits anyone who asks.

Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?

As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination.

Fine Art Photography

I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal, but I did it!

I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or nature available for wall décor.
