The Rose
In the well-known story of beauty and the beast, the beast must find someone to love him before the last rose petal falls. His curse, a result of his cruel and selfish nature from the environment he was raised in, spoiled, and a want and care for no one.
It’s sad to think there are people like this, moulded from their home and social environment, unaware how to live with a compassionate heart. In this scenario, the rose would lose its petal.
There is no doubt the pitfalls of life can either break you or create a spark of determination to change the stars in your life.
I was at that point. Ready for change. Desperate for a new life. But I found myself lost in a culture that was self-seeking, used tools for healing that never lasted. New age. I believed I was being seen and helped by the universe, validated by signs of repetitive numbers and receiving signs I asked for.
I believed I received the rose in full bloom, unchanging, and a path that would fulfill my desire for a life of freedom away from verbal abuse and a mountain of debt.
But it only led me further down a path of darkness. It did not save me.
It was only through believing in Jesus Christ that I was saved. Healed from the negative impacts of new age indoctrination and set free.
This journey is one of love where if the last rose petal fell, another brilliant rose takes its place. We will always falter because we are born with sin and drawn to it like moths to light. But in Christ we’re renewed.
As a new Christian, I’ve had to learn much, as my focus was on myself. My wants, desires, and constant worry of having to meet our monthly financial responsibilities, being stuck in a challenging marriage, a non-believer, while maintaining my faith. Yesterday took a toll. I’d been recovering from a nasty cold, was irritable, and saw flashes of myself before I was saved. A part of me, I thought was dead. But new age invites the unwanted and it lingers in the mist to trick and trap you whenever possible.
In this case, the last rose petal fell.
I prayed for the worry, anxiety, fear, anger, and doubt to be healed. To have it washed away and to awaken feeling renewed. Jesus answered. Today, as I write this, I feel at peace, in full bloom, ready to embrace a new day, even with its difficulties, as I know I’m not alone.
Thus, I have my beautiful rose. A rose of hope that gives me the strength and courage to embrace each day, knowing Jesus is there to catch the petal before it lands.
Hi, I’m Cathy.
A blogger, photographer, author, passionately driven to point people away from new age indoctrination to find redemption in Jesus Christ.
I’m a mixed blend, excited to share all I offer...
Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?
As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination.
Fine Art Photography
I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal, but I did it!
I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or nature available for wall décor.
