How Cravings Create Disorder in Your Life
Cravings can range from a delightful pastry to a decadent appetizer, or a scrumptious meal. A visualization that makes you salivate and heightens dopamine’s with the memory of the pleasurable taste. A desire that leads to rearranging your schedule to satisfy the yearning for the explosion of deliciousness in your taste buds.
To crave, doesn’t happen quickly. It’s cultivated through a repetition of actions you desire to achieve. It’s an expectation formed from the visualization. The taste, texture, and delightful sensation with each bite. Your mouth waters to taste it, and despite your schedule, you find a way to obtain it. It’s when things don’t align as expected, you’re in disarray as you come up with a reasonable explanation for rearranging your schedule to satisfy your craving.
I used to schedule my day to allow time to pick up a latte before appointments. In fact, it was a controller in my life, as my blood would boil if I didn’t have it. Without that coffee my day was off kilter, and all I’d think about is the smooth taste warming my insides. Something so small, insignificant in the scope of life, yet I had to have it.
What about you? Do you have cravings for a specific delectable delight? Does it make your head spin if you can’t have it? Do you reorganize your schedule to pick it up?
I’ve experienced it countless times. So, how do you handle the craving and have peace in your mind and tummy.
Matthew 7:7-25
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”
This scripture speaks volumes wherein if you give the craving to Jesus, He will take it away, as you’re immensely valuable to Him. He wants to take care of you. To give you strength when you’re weak. For you to see the truth of your consequences, recognize your actions, pause, and contemplate whether to proceed. It’s the awareness of actions in the moment that can make or break a good or bad decision. When you give it to Jesus, the truth is revealed.
I’ve learned that going without a latte isn’t going to cripple my day. I’ve also learned to be patient and realize what’s important. If I have an appointment and know if I stop to pick up a coffee will make me late, then I ask the question, is it fair to the person who is waiting. If you have to rearrange your schedule to satisfy your appetite, who will be placed in discomfort due to your craving. The other question is it worth it when it impacts others.
St. Augustine wrote:
‘O Lord reorder my disordered loves’.
To crave is a part of life. You can walk away from the intensity; however, like St. Augustine, ensure your priorities are taken care of first.
I leave you with this scripture...
Matthew 6:22
The eye is the lamp of the body; so then, if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.

Blog-Twisted Roots
Do you find yourself asking questions about new age, whether the practices and beliefs are leading your soul to redemption?
As a reformed new ager, I was saturated in the belief I could co-create with the universe and manifest a life of abundance. But I was deceived. This blog is to point you to the truth of God’s words and how He perceives the new age indoctrination.
Fine Art Photography
I always dreamed of being a professional photographer when I grew up. It was a journey to reach this goal, but I did it!
I owned a home-based studio for over a decade but have been shooting images for two decades. Now, semi-retired, I have a collection of my most cherished images of landscape or nature available for wall décor
