I Choose the True Path of Life
We are born to live and experience life in all its glory. Granted, we suffer, as that is how we learn compassion and overcome hurdles and obstacles that fall in our path. But how we choose to overcome these traumas is a spiritual choice. For six years, I chose new age and I’m sharing what new age really is and how this practice compares to scripture.
The new age culture is guided by the universe but more importantly, the ‘council of light’. A team of ascended masters, light beings (unicorns, fairies, dragons), angels, spirit guides to build a deeper connection with universal energies and purpose. The goal, to be a light walker, guided by the council of light to elevate the planet to a higher level of consciousness, being ‘Christ consciousness’—a state of consciousness in which a person has found self-realization and unity with God or the Divine.
To reach this level, a new ager needs to practice self-love, self-nurturing, compassion, through meditation, prayer, yoga, tai chi, etc., to embody the truth of self, the power to manifest and co-create with the universe, and believe deeply they’re worthy of receiving.
This culture is based on Jesus as a notion that all beings are one with the divine, as he became enlightened after suffering and to new agers became a symbolic guide to those who suffer in discovering their true nature and higher self.
As a former new ager, I read about the children of a well-known spiritual speaker and author who’d passed away, who claimed to receive signs from their loved one in the afterlife. They were told the afterlife is a better place to be than on earth, in human form, and the ‘council of light’ was real. The loved one shared information received by the council of light, but to receive this ‘new’ information you had to take a course and pay.
What needs to be remembered is God created life. God created the universe. Salvation only comes through Jesus Christ, and the only way to get to the Father is through the son.
We are not God like. We are his children, born to learn to love and worship him for all he has given and sacrificed.

When I read those words from Doreen Virtue’s book, “Deceived No More,” tears flowed as I realized how I offended God and his son, Jesus Christ, through my saturation in the new age culture.
I was swept away in new age because I saw proof in repetitive numbers. If I asked for a sign from the universe, I’d see it. I witnessed synchronicity repeatedly and was blown away by these signs. I had books of the well-known author who passed away. I subscribed to the publishing agency that published his books and distributes new age material. I enrolled in courses from numerous spiritual coaches on meditation and spiritual growth. I was hooked, but I never felt completed.
For short periods, I’d feel good and enjoyed promoting my beliefs on social media, but it never lasted. I was constantly searching for more.
I’m humbled to be saved, because in my eyes, I didn’t deserve it. I was detestable in God’s eyes, a backslider, as I was a Christian and walked away from the faith, and yet, Jesus saved me when I asked for his help.
I no longer search for answers as I am filled with the bread of life. I am no longer hungry or thirsty, as Jesus is my Lord and Savior and has continued to save me as I return to my Christian path to learn to love him more and more.
I went to more than one medium and they tell the truth. That is how tricky demons can be. They give you what you want to hear to hook you and keep you as one of their own, and they never rest.
God gave us free will to choose to believe in Him or not. How will you choose?
